  Dual Band

The Sea-me Dual Band has been designed to meet all the requirements of ISO 8729-2:2009 and thus responds to radar pulses at both X and S bands. All ships over 3000 tons are required by law to carry both types of radar and many prefer to monitor S Band when in open waters because it is more tolerant of heavy rain and sea clutter.

It also meets the applicable requirements of the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive and of ETSI Standard 302 752 and has been formally tested by outside agencies against these. In a nutshell this means that Sea-me will not interfere with your other equipment and vice versa.

The performance levels of the Sea-me Dual Band are shown in the two following graphs, the first for S Band and the second for X Band. These tests were carried out at QinetiQ Funtington in June 2009.

These plots show that Sea-me exceeds the ISO 8729:2009 requirement at both S and X Band at angles of heel up to 20°.
