The International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea require vessels in poor visibility to make specific and repeated sound signals. HEAR-ME is designed to make these signals at the touch of a button and to continue to make them until told to stop. This relieves the crew of the chore of manning their horn button.

HEAR-ME is simply connected to the vessel's power supply and to the existing horn button. A membrane key pad is then used to select the signal required (at anchor, underway etc). HEAR-ME also has a test mode which, using its own internal buzzer, can be used to confirm that the device is working correctly. HEAR-ME works with both 12V and 24V systems. It comes complete with full installation instructions, 4m cable and a laminated ready reference card which shows the signals given by each button on the keypad.

HEAR-ME is designed for motor cruisers which generally have a horn fitted rather than for sailing vessels which generally do not have a fitted horn and which are required to give different signals.
